Writing Update 3
The rough draft of Elven Liberation: Children of the Stars is finished! It has now been handed over to my Aunt and editor Karrie Ann. While she edits the book I will work on my standalone novel and third book in Elven Liberation. I’m pleased with the pace this is going and hope everyone else is excited to read the next installment in the Elven Liberation series. I am still uncertain if the series will become a trilogy or have four books. I want to make sure the ending feels complete and I don’t want to make the series drag on. After the series is finished I have many standalone book ideas to develop the side characters. The first will be about Tran’s father Kent and his guard Byron. The second will be about Orlin, Sedar, Colin, and Dorna. I am grateful for all those who are supporting me as I continue to build upon the world of Vex’sar.

Lore
Mage Lore
Mages are the most influential blood on Vex’sar. Along with changelings, they are immortal. They believe in what they call “The Cycle”. The Cycle states that all bloods are reincarnated until they are born as mages. Within The Cycle, they believe they were born both as a human and an elf before they became Mages. This belief stems from brief glimpses of their past lives. No other blood knows about the belief of The Cycle save changelings. Even though they believe this, Mages have the reputation of being highly arrogant. Some mages bind with a changeling to have unlimited access to the changeling’s sight and in exchange, provide the changeling with the ability to see and manipulate magic. Mages’ magic comes from the world. Every 10 years mages bond with Vex’sar to gain the power to use the world’s unlimited source of physical magic. To use this magic they must speak words in the Magelorian language except for wind magic which is easily influenced by a mage’s emotions. If they do not make this bond they will be powerless. The only exception to this is Queen Yas’ka who arrived on Vex’sar from another world. Every mage has a pull inside them after being on Vex’sar for a few hundred years to leave and find “their world” in which they have a special connection. Vex’sar is Queen Yas’ka’s world where she only had to bond to it once. Only mages can travel to different worlds in search of the one that connects perfectly to their essence aka soul.

Writing Update 2
I’m sorry it’s almost been a month since my last update. Have no fear, that does not mean I haven’t been writing. I’ve been writing and working on formatting my book before I get too overwhelmed ;). Here are the stats of my writing to this point. Page count: 254 (paperback version) Word count: 61,606 (perhaps only 30k to go, not sure if the book will be shorter or longer yet lol) New chapters: 18-22 (Chapter 18 Queen Yas’ka, Chapters 19-20 Tran, Chapter 21 Gor’del and Morkar, Chapter 22 Sofina) Here is a little snippet of what the formatting will look like if Amazon is okay with the font I chose for the chapters. After the example, I will give a few quotes from each chapter. As always, everything is up for revision. Fear overcame her as the true queen was the first to awake. “Who are you?” Yas’ka asked in panic. Unmar looked over and his sickly smile grew on his face. “Ah, my queen, it has been too long.” -Chapter 18 “Please, come and join us in the dining room,” Lady Remmer added, and they all followed her. Tran tried to keep a strong steady pace but found himself falling behind. The frustration of not being able to keep up made him self-conscious. Tran noticed Lord Graff looking behind him. He turned to his sister and signed something that Tran couldn’t make out due to the angle. A sigh came out of Lord Graff’s sister, and she stopped walking and waited for Tran. -Chapter 19 In future chapters, I may not put quotes. It’s getting too close to the end, and I don’t want to spoil anything.
